Long term Evolution - LTE

Go Beyond Speed...
Next generation that speaks your language

With LTE networks, Service Providers will have a platform to deliver True Mobile Broadband services anywhere that can support the rapidly growing subscriber data take up rates. LTE also brings a much improved Business Proposition compared to the legacy technologies. Even at this early stage, thanks to significant technical enhancements, LTE is expected to provide lower cost per bit, much higher capacity, great flexibility and have true global appeal.

LTE will be able to be deployed in existing frequency spectrum and "grow"in that band as more subscribers are added, providing an optimal way to reuse existing spectrum and also enable LTE to make the most of the capacity available in the new spectrum bands.

Because LTE connects to 3GPP and 3GPP2 legacy networks, it also provides the convenience of maintaining existing global roaming agreements plus the ability to hand-over to the GSM/3G sub-layer when LTE coverage is not available.

LTE gives service providers the opportunity to diversify the breadth of their services, offering much more to their subscribers within a single network. A move to LTE creates an opportunity to lower the cost of providing mobile broadband connectivity and subsequently the cost to the end-user while at the same time delivering new and improved services and applications.

A move to LTE creates opportunities to:

  • Lower the costs of providing mobile broadband connectivity
  • Reduce end-user monthly fees
  • Deliver new and improved services and applications.

The reach of 3GPP technologies introduces economies of scale, which will likely have a significant impact on future LTE infrastructure and handset costs. Additionally, the higher spectrum efficiency, much improved capacity and simpler IP core enable the convergence of all existing networks into one; LTE makes business sense.
