Motorola Customers Win with RFID
RFID World 2008 was a winning occasion for two Motorola RFID customers. Our congratulations go out to them both for the winning business decision to put RFID to work in their organizations and for taking top awards for their efforts.
Top honors for Excellence in an RFID Pilot went to consumer goods manufacturer Kimberly-Clark. Kimberly-Clark teamed with PINC Solutions and Motorola to pilot an RTLS-enabled trailer yard management system using passive RFID, combined with GPS and Wi-Fi technology. The system is using PINC's specially developed tag enclosures that help to improve read rates while protecting the tags from environmentally harsh conditions.

The winner of the RFID award for Excellence in Protecting the Environment is the Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation. The department is using RFID to cost-effectively provide traceability and security in the food supply chain for produce. Motorola RFID handhelds and RFID fixed readers at strategic transfer points track produce from the farm to the retailer. Motorola partners GlobeRanger and Lowry Computer Products have provided a web interface solution that provides end-to-end traceability to help manage food safety investigations and recalls.

Motorola is continuing the winning tradition -- ABI Research has named Motorola the top worldwide supplier of passive UHF reader vendors. A combination of strong shipments, solid product innovation, and persistent market presence earned the top rating in ABI's 2008 Vendor Matrix. Motorola also topped the RIS 2008 Hardware Leaderboard for RFID technology, citing "impressive scores in all six individual criteria."

We're proud to be recognized ... but even prouder that our innovative RFID solutions are earning returns and recognition for our customers. How can we help you win?
