Broadband for Cable Operators

Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS)

From traditional, chassis-based CMTS platforms — to integrated CMTS platforms with decoupled downstream and upstream channels — to modular CMTS platforms — Motorola offers a flexible migration path.

DOCSIS® 3/Channel Bonding

The BSR family of CMTS/edge router platforms support channel bonding today and allow cable operators to quickly take advantage of standards-based DOCSIS® 3 services.

DOCSIS® 3.0 specifications include a number of enhancements, most notably, channel bonding and support for IPv6. DOCSIS® 3.0 is creating opportunities for cable operators to increase bandwidth, enhance security, and evolve from Triple Play voice, data, and video services. Motorola’s downstream channel bonding solution can deliver over 145 Mbps to a single DOCSIS® cable modem and over 200 Mbps to a single EuroDOCSIS cable modem using the Motorola BSR 64000 CMTS/edge router and Motorola cable modems.

  • BSR 64000 is a proven, high-density, standards-based, fully redundant CMTS/intelligent edge router that allows broadband operators to rapidly introduce differentiated data, voice, and multimedia services
  • BSR 2000 is a compact, high-performance standards-based CMTS edge router that provides the greatest value in its category
  • Decoupled Downstream TX32 provides significant downstream capacity incorporating DOCSIS® 3.0 downstream channel bonding into a highly cost effective Ultra-Broadband solution
